Let’s talk beer and RevOps with my favorite CEO, Patrick Campbell.

I first met Patrick Campbell, the CEO of ProfitWell, at SaaStock West Coast in 2019. I had been following ProfitWell for a while as they had from the public eye made the transition from consulting firms to a consulting and product company, which I wanted to do with Go Nimbly. At SaaStock, I was blown away from Patrick’s presentation on what he called the “reverberations of fuck” a term he gave for the leadership decisions we make in our businesses that create echo chambers of lousy shit and eat up all of our innovation and time. His presentation was intelligent, funny and spot-on to my ideas of running a company.

That would have been enough to earn Patrick a spot on my best CEO’s list. Still, thankfully for me, I got to spend a weekend with him at an event called SaaS Society where I played a game of “no-no, that’s your chair, and that’s my chair” over dinner to ensure I had an evening of picking his brain.

Fast forward a few months after that dinner, and I receive a request from Gary Amaral and Patrick about being on their RevOps and Hops video series. I, of course, was so excited to go. My favorite job of all time was Rackspace, based in San Antonio. So the idea of going “back to where my tech career really blossomed” to talk about RevOps seemed exciting.

Looking back at this episode of RevOps and Hops it really signifies a place and time for me on my journey of evangelizing RevOps. The term #silonomore was catching on in the RevOps community a bit and I was starting to make the turn from explaining what RevOps was to explaining how it works inside of organizations. After this podcast I started wanting to do more podcast and be even more explicit in what framework I had been seeing work across SaaS.
